Welcome to Alexander Thomson Society
The Society was founded to promote the life and work of the Scottish architect,
Alexander 'Greek' Thomson (1817-1875) and produces a newsletter plus organises an annual programme of lectures and walking tours. By joining the Society, you not only support 'Our New Home' - 1 Alexander Thomson Place (1ATP) but also take advantage of special members' offers on books, videos and other merchandise.
1 ALEXANDER THOMSON PLACE APPEAL
One of our chief concerns this year is to further the 1 Alexander Thomson Place Appeal (The Caledonia Road Church Project.) We propose to form a fundraising committee with a defined life span of two years, or when we reach the target of £500,000, whichever is the shorter! We fully realise that this is not the best time to be looking for financial help, but equally we do not think that sitting on our hands and doing nothing is an option. Can we ask if you (or someone you know) would be willing to be a part of this committee and able to help us source funds, that you please contact us? It is not a life sentence, and if we are successful you will have contributed to creating a lasting memorial to Thomson and to showing that we care and appreciate his work in the 21st century.
